Adventures with Jewel is where people who travel to experience the world learn about authentic local culture, food, and experiences from around the world (or at least from the destinations I’ve personally visited).

Adventures with Jewel is about exploring the world, experiencing something new, and learning and growing in that newness.
For myself, and I hope for you too, travel, food, and learning about other cultures is that newness (and that’s what this blog is all about).
Along with authentic local experiences, delicious food, and cultural recommendations, my goal is also to inspire you to get out of your comfort zone, set goals, and pursue what you’re most passionate about.

Here’s my personal story:
The super quick version
I was born and raised in Accra, Ghana. Growing up I didn’t really travel a lot, but at 13 I hopped on a flight with my brothers that would change my life.
I am an artist, author, strategist, design practitioner, and wholly creative soul currently based in the U.S. but try to travel often and experience new cultures, people, and food.
While I live to create art, I also like to make videos of my adventures around the globe. To me, Adventures with Jewel is a true global reality. Trust the taste.

Dropped in the wintery embrace of Chicago from the balmy sway of Osu, I found myself in a completely new environment for the first time in my life. I was not prepared, very nervous, and fearful. Yet I was open to this new chapter of my life.
I would be years later in college before I traveled again. This time to the other side of the world… to Australia. My experience studying abroad truly opened my heart to what I always knew to be true. I’m a nomad, an explorer, a traveler across worlds.
I returned to the U.S. to complete my education. After that I spent about a decade working in various jobs. During that time, it was challenging for me to focus on what always spoke to me, creating.
It would take years while working before I self-published my first book and art collection with, Reflections of Intimacy.
Post Covid, I got laid off and spent time exploring new aspects of myself. I found that sharing my experiences brought some peace amidst the stress of trying to make a living.
It has not been easy.
I’m still not making enough to fully live and support myself so I travel on a budget. Finding a home wherever I am, embracing the world, creating where and when I can, and sharing my adventures with you.

Adventures with Jewel is a labor of love, a frame of a small slice of the world, and of embracing the unknown. So many people have cheered me on across bus terminals, airports, couches, comment sections on the internet, between hellos in different languages, and the smiles that power them.
Today, I share what I can in the hopes that you’re able to explore a bit more, embrace a new culture or experience, and hopefully find some inspiration for your next journey – wherever that may be.
